Field Notes from the Feminine

Here is something I keep returning to after a week spent with this theme: there are two very different ways to end a quarter.

The first is to close it and immediately open the next one - new goals, new energy, new momentum. It feels like leadership. It looks like ambition. And it quietly guarantees that you'll carry the same unexamined patterns into the next 90 days, wondering why you keep arriving at the same crossroads.

The second is to stay with it a little longer than feels comfortable. To look at what actually happened.  Not to judge it, but to receive it. To ask not just what did this produce, but what did this teach me that I couldn't have learned any other way?

That second approach is slower. It takes more courage than launching a new plan. And it is the single thing that separates the CEO who scales sustainably from the one who achieves and then has to rebuild.

The review isn't the pause before the work.

The review is where the work becomes wisdom.
